DIY Gallery Wall

I know I haven't posted in a while.  We have been straight up SICK over here at Casa Jensen.  Luckily not the flu, but a nasty nasty cold that got all three of us in a nicely staggered manner so that at least one of us has been sick since New Year's.  So sick that I actually had to skip Winesday Wednesday last week.  The horror!  Well, the worst has passed and, WE ARE FEELING AMBITIOUS AROUND HERE AGAIN!

To celebrate, Cory helped me hang up the gallery wall I have been working on since the end of 2012.  I laid it on the floor to start with and arranged and re-arranged it about a million times, but it was never "just right."  So, when Cory woke me up at 5:45 am yesterday morning (yes, you read that right) and said, "hey, let's hang up those pictures," I sort of panicked.  Not just because it was still sleepy time, but because I didn't have it laid out exactly to my satisfaction.  Well, apparently my creative brain works best in the early, early morning because I made a few tweaks and...voila!  Perfect!

Over the next three hours, between Hallie waking up, breakfast, business calls for Cory, etc. we finally finished!  I am really, really happy with the final result and I think it is the perfect addition to our entry way and the blank space that was once over our stairs.  Below is the result.  Enjoy the pictures and Pin It if you like it!  I also included a source list at the bottom of the post.

Ciao for now

I LOVE all the shapes and the mirrors (I'm definitely hitting up Target and Hobby Lobby, by the way!) and the colors! Seriously I'm in love with it all! So well done! Thanks so much for sharing- such great inspiration for me!

  3. Your gallery wall is beautiful! I found you via Pinterest. How did you hang your cJn and your H? Did they have hooks on the back already? I have small initials I want to use on my wall but they don't have any hardware attached.

  4. Hi Kari! I'm glad you like it!
The c, J, n and H all had little holes in the back for a nail to catch on. If you initials don't have that option and they are fairly small, I would recommend hanging them with 3M command strips. Here is a link so you can see what I am referring to - http://www.amazon.com/Command-Medium-Mounting-Refill-9-Strip/dp/B0014CQGW4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1361298303&sr=8-2&keywords=3m+command+strips. But they are also available at Walmart, Target, Home Depot, etc. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by the blog!

  5. Hi Kari,
I know this is the most annoying question that people ask but would you be able to tell me the brand and paint color you used on the walls of your gallery wall?

Thank you so much, it looks amazing.

  7. Hey gals, thanks for the love :)

The paint color is "Jogging Path" by Sherwin Williams in flat finish. It is a great color...gray, beige, cream, greenish and goes with everything.

  13. Thanks for sharing! found you too via pinterest. I've been searching for the mirror and finally now know what they're called. Everywhere I looked wanted $50 for one - Walmart was $15, after I knew the name of the shape!

    Thanks again :)

  16. Hello! I just saw this on Pinterest and had to check it out. It's great! I love everything about it and definitely need to use it as inspiration for my boring existing gallery walls. I've wanted the square love mirror from HL for awhile but its always cracked when I go. Maybe I need to check them again!

And the round frame around the turquoise H is brilliant w/ the random ampersand sign looks so perfectly eclectic. You've really got an eye for design. Thank you for sharing these ideas!! Xo
